asTTle: Writing to Persuade

asTTle: Writing to Persuade. Topic: your opinion on fighting

“Bleep bloop blorp, GAME OVER The Axe Murderer won the #12 round do you want to play another round of Super Smash Bros?” the Tv screams at me I put my controller down the walk away. Today I am telling you, yes, I mean you… wait, don’t you believe me? Well… you're reading so I am guessing you're Intrigued, I am going to tell you what I think of fighting why It can be wrong and when it’s sometimes okay like defending yourself.

If you're trying to get a candy bar or something and then the shopkeeper accuses you of stealing and you have a go at him or her, that’s not necessary. I think you should just talk to him to ask why he thought you were stealing, you could just be going to the front of the shop to look at something else and you were going to come back to pay. It’s best not to start a fight in these situations. You can just talk.

Here is a scene where you can use self-defence like you find a robber getting away with, let's say some money, then you can tackle him and keep him from running away until the police come. Or maybe you're trying to protect someone you love, like you sibling, from a bear or someone who is a MANIAC TRYING TO KILL YOU!!! Sometimes your gut feeling could just save YOU. Wait you don’t believe me... well, don’t make me come out of the screen and come scream at you, cause I can TOTALLY do that… not. Back to the point self-defence is able to save you and anyone in the WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD, I wish I could write bigger, (sad face).

But also fighting can be bad, and I am not talking about play fighting, I mean real fighting. If you kill someone fighting them you’re going to be sent to jail, unless you have a good lawyer. The consequences can be really harsh sometimes. But I mean play fightings ok, just make some rules up and you should be fine, as long as the person you are play fighting with is as weak or as strong as you are.

So if you agree with me fighting can be bad and well, good. Hope you learned something or you might have already known all this stuff. Have a good day and don’t die (cheeky smile). “Bleep bloop blorp, GAME OVER the head slayer won the #34 round.” roars the tv “ARGGHHH I can never win” I scream again.

BTB Auction!!! :-D

Painting is fun but even more fun when you can eat it!
Hello, I am Bridget and today we did the BTB auction. The BTB auction is when us, rm 6, brings in stuff we want to auction off. We earn BTB points by working, finishing of tasks, and even if we tag a certain person in a game. At the end of the term, we do the auction! I had gotten 28 BTB points, this is what I got, an edible paint brush. ( it's actually chocolate!)

AsTTle writing

Today I am going to describe my special place…   The master bedroom of messiness!! I have spent a total of 7 years there and there are still more to come. Last time we had to write about friendship, that was hard, but with the skills I have learnt through the year I am going to make this BTB! Read to the end and your socks will be blown off!  { I hope… }

The bedroom. A place where disasters may occur. A place to relax. The only room in the house that I feel lost in a different world, if we weren’t here, I could not tell you this. The curtains have teddy bears on them, each one of them have a unique expression like everybody should. When I open the window, a soft breeze flows in like a cloud lost at sea. My owl is filled with a herb called lavender, and that gives the room a nice sense of freedom, I like to flop down on my bed and enter my own little world, I feel for my radio and turn that on, it’s like the war is over and everyone is free of danger, even though we are not.

If it is raining and cold, and the fire is going, I can wander over to the room with the chimney and close the doors trap heat in. It always feels like a warm tiny cottage where it is safe to hide. There is another little door in my room, that leads to a low roof and long 8 meters, once I had friends over and we were playing with the door and then I jammed my finger in it. It is also where is store all my junk and old toy that I don’t need anymore. The only thing is I don’t like leaving the door open for too long, because of those little rodents called mice. Yes, if one gets out we have to run the whole house down to just get it.

Just recently we got a nice cat named tucker, and he keeps down the numbers of mice. He comes up to my room sometimes and then dad shoves him down. Back to the story… The room of messiness is kept messy, if it is cleaned I cannot find anything, that means I can roar the house down like a lion. I can also listen to my weird voice if I want, but I choose not to. I have made many huts that have lasted for about a week, each one is different. The are many more different combinations that I can do, so until we move houses I am going to keep making those devilish huts, that hide me from my friends. When I am in them I need a torch otherwise I can’t see a thing like a bat, in other words, I am as blind as a bat in there.

That pretty much wraps it up, I have talked a little bit about some of what is looks like, what I do in there, where some doors lead to, and my huts that I made. I hope I have blown your socks off otherwise I still hope you enjoyed!!

HUNTING ARGUMENT

Hunting isn’t a nice sport to play. In fact I don’t even call it a sport, I call it a game of slaughter. When you go hunting you are trying to kill an animal, And if you don’t clean the animal, you shot, it will start stinking and other animals have to suffer the horrible death, and stench. I think you should be the one who cleans the animal up!

Hunting is bad for the environment & endangered species. Sometime inexperienced hunter mistake a species that is ok to hunt with a endangered species. An example of this in NZ is the takahe, which are endangered, being mistaken for pukeko and accidentally murdered.
Trophy hunting is also a big problem.Trophy hunting is when you go to places like Africa and hunt big game animals  like, lions , tigers , giraffes and elephants, ete.
This is a problem because soon the endangered species could become extinct! An example of this is the white Rhino, it was hunted to almost extinction by trophy hunters  who just wanted tuskes for ivey. This is why hunting has a negative impact for many living things.

You may not think this, but when you go through the bush you might  stand on a native plant. When you go out you don’t look down to see what you are treading on, that means the plants can be driven to extinction and will die out. If you make a path to a hunting area, and cut down a native tree, then you are destroying the bush. If you do that in the wrong place, like a national park, you can be fined for it.

Hunting has some good things about it too. First of all you can get free meat and if you're trained it takes only minutes to find an animal. The hormones in the animal change to frightened when they can see you clearly, this means the meat at the supermarket has those hormones. While when you kill the animal without it seeing you, means the meat is fine. So therefore hunting is cheaper then the meat at the supermarket you buy.

Hunting keeps the population of lots of animal down. Lots of animals breed quickly and cause destruction to our natural environment. This will affect native animals that need the food the pests take for themselves. For example the humble stoat, he will sneak away into native bird borrows and take the eggs for himself like a kiwi’s, he can also climb up trees so he can catch his prey. Goats keep the prickles down but can take a native plant for a
different plant and eat it, and animals in the wild can eat our native plants too, they could wipe out the native plants. So even if it is sad to kill an animal, the hunters keep pests populations down.

A thing to think about is do you want to hunt? It is a decision every hunter has thought about, think carefully. The last thing you want is to make a wrong turn in your life and take the wrong path. I know I don’t want to hunt and kill the poor animals, they deserve to live and so do you. What I mean by that is some hunters kill their partner by accident or the hunter is so focused on the animal they nearly walk off a cliff. So why hunt, why take this risk of your life? Some say it is for fun, some say it is good exercise, yes that is true but think…   do poor animals like elephants need to be killed just for the tusks? I don’t think they have to die, this is why I am standing up and saying animals have a right to LIVE!
